Who is responsible

Stephen Kittner, an engineering consultant based in Herefordshire, UK, is the data controller for this site. Contact: steve@stephenkittner.com.

What I collect and why

• Requests for quotation: your name, organisation, email, the area of work, timescale and brief. These are used only to reply to you and discuss the work (lawful basis: taking steps at your request before a contract). They are delivered to my inbox through the email service Resend.
• Resource waitlists: your email address and which resource you're interested in, used only to tell you when it's released (lawful basis: consent; email me any time to be removed).
• AI Steve and the Foreman: what you type is sent to Anthropic (the company behind Claude) to generate a reply. This site does not store chat transcripts. Please don't type personal or confidential information into the chat.
• LinkedIn posts: posts are shown as plain previews. Only if you click View live post does the page load that post from LinkedIn, which may then set its own cookies under LinkedIn's privacy policy. Nothing loads from LinkedIn until you choose.
• Server logs: the hosting provider records standard technical logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and to limit abuse.

What I don't do

No advertising, no tracking cookies of my own, no analytics profiling, and I never sell or share your details for marketing.

How long it's kept

Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact unless we go on to work together. Waitlist addresses are deleted once the resource is released or when you ask.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Email me and I'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
